At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them. 41 Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah. “Where have all the demons gone?” How one answers this question will prove incredibly insightful as to where they stand relative to the all-important question of why Christianity is dying in the Western “civilized” world.
There is today a dominant school of theological thought in the formerly Christian Western world – the various nations and states in the regions of Europe, Australia, and the Americas – who by virtue of their advancements in the sciences and technology, have come to a cultural and academic conclusion that there is no spiritual realm, and that the only realm that matters is the physical world that can be subjected to scientific inquiry.
Their corresponding theology is called Cessationism, which contends that the miracles in the New Testament and the extraordinary spiritual gifts like prophecy, divine healing, and speaking in tongues, have ceased in the modern era.
Is it any wonder, then, that the new religion of the West – the dollar and technology – has led the world straight into moral decay, corruption, mass depression, identity crises, celebrations of abominations, mass shootings every day, strange new diseases, and daily new innovations on how to kill and destroy each other?
On this blessed Friday, I wish to provoke your Spirit with this question: The demons that Jesus rebuked in His ministry… Did they die and pass out with the original 12 Apostles? Where did they go???”
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. It is time for Christians to wake up and start rebuking spirits and demonic forces that have possessed our nations. We have seen where cessationism has led us. Let us unleash a revival of a new Spirit Age!
Let the Spirit of God in you rise this day and start rebuking and repossessing our rightful inheritances, in Jesus’ name!
